It’s rare that I get an opportunity to talk – at least in a formal setting – about my photography. And that is okay with me. My desire is that my photographs are effective at communicating a feeling, mood or message, without ever having to open my mouth. But recently I had the chance to present a talk entitled “The Art of Photographing Water” at the first ever Pecha Kucha event in Williamsburg. For those unfamiliar, Pecha Kucha events are held in cities throughout the world and gather creative minds from a variety of backgrounds and professions to present a topic for exactly 6 minutes 40 seconds. Each speaker is allowed 20 slides and you only get 20 seconds per slide. It’s a fast paced, exciting environment and, despite my reluctance to speak in public, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Please take a few minutes (6 minutes 40 second to be exact!) to see and hear my presentation. Enjoy!
